Erika Addis | Media

Erika Addis is one of Australia’s most highly regarded cinematographers and has worked in film and television since graduating in cinematography at the Australian Film and Television School in 1979.

In an area of the media still highly dominated by men, Erika has been a trailblazer and mentor for women in camera for close to 40 years, on the set of documentary, film, and TV productions in Australia.

She is President of Women in Film and Television, and involved in their Mentor Program. In the last decade she has expanded her career into teaching students the art and craft of cinematography, where she has passionately and energetically encouraged and inspired women students to follow her into the world behind the camera.

Erika’s work recognises and promotes the power and importance of women’s point of view behind the camera, framing and lighting and creating story through the power of the moving image.
