For many years, Jude Finch has worked with women and families in the Blue Mountains through The Blue Mountains Women’s Health Centre, and The Blackheath Area Neighbourhood Centre in areas such as mental health, children and family services, and health promotion.
Thirteen years ago she founded Blue Mountains East Timor Sisters which works to improve the lives of women and girls in Timor Leste. The group has raised nearly one million dollars to support women’s projects.
Recently she has been with The Alola Foundation, a feminist NGO, providing programs to assist Timor Leste women and children. Through Alola, Jude works with community groups and individuals to improve maternal and child health, create employment, promote women’s human rights, strengthen community development, and improve the status of women.
Jude’s passion for social justice has led to community and friendship links between women across cultures. She has made an international feminist difference.
