Maha Abdo | For Making a Feminist Difference in Community Activism

Maha Krayem Abdo is a passionate advocate for social justice. She serves as the CEO of ‘Muslim Women Australia'(MWA), a representative body for Muslim women advocating for equality and the rights of all women, through authentic leadership based on Islamic principles.

She has spent over three decades working with MWA to help give Muslim women, often newly arrived immigrants, safety and assurance in difficult and trying circumstances.

Maha advocates for human rights and anti-discrimination to raise awareness and make a change for Muslim women in our society. She works at the local, national and international levels advising government on policy, services and strategies to create a harmonious community for future generations of both Muslim and non-Muslim women.
