Nina Angelo’s Workshops, The Fabric of Our Lives give women, whether city or rural, the opportunity to tell their stories, offering a fun and safe place to explore and share life, history and community needs. Here women discover their often hidden abilities and strengths through artistic expression.
Having attended the National Art School and specialised in printmaking, this became her tool of expression. Many banners have been produced in her Workshops, as well as flags, posters and t-shirts, expressing concerns regarding feminist issues, such as Violence Against Women, Reclaim the Night, and International Women’s Day.
Held in many Australian country and remote towns, her Workshops have created income-generating businesses for women in the Yalata Aboriginal Community, Fiji and Tuvalu.
Nina’s printmaking and story telling Workshops, and her presentations at regional and community arts events, have enriched the lives of many hundred of women.
