Professor Renae Ryan is internationally recognized as a leader and advocate for gender equity, diversity, and inclusion (GEDI). Since 2017, she has led the ‘Science in Australia Gender Equity Program’ (SAGE) at the University of Sydney. She has been courageous, dedicated and selfless in her pursuit of improving the University’s culture and making the workplace more inclusive for all staff and students. She is currently a member of the international OECD Women in STEM Engagement Group.
Renae has made major impacts, in promoting gender diversity in biomedical research, recruiting and retaining early SAGE Program and her recent work revitalizing the Asian Biophysical Society and creating a gender balance among speakers certainly identifies her as making a feminist difference in the field of science.
