Rosie Herberte | For Making a Feminist Difference in Arts

Rosie Herberte’s adult life, both in paid and unpaid work has been dedicated to improving women’s place and how they are seen in the world. She communicates with women through interviews on community radio, she gives talks to local social and network groups such as QUOTA and, in particular, she encourages women to participate in street theatre. Through these activities, Rosie gives women a voice and a very public one!

These street performances, directed and created by Rosie, always attract an appreciative crowd – and some not so pleased members of the aggrieved men`s movement! Her activities make a feminist difference, as being given a voice and being heard is a potent way to improve the status of women, especially young women.
